WW 160: How To Lead During Times of Uncertainty - Solo Show

I’m sure many of the podcasts you listen to are sharing some quick updates about the pandemic, and I guess I’m jumping on the bandwagon, but I really feel that it’s important to share some tips and advice on how to handle any moment of uncertainty, especially as a leader. During times like these, it matters so much that you know how to show up for your community, and be a source of light and help to them when they’re searching for answers. Loving this episode? A Quick Recap from this episode

I’m sure many of the podcasts you listen to are sharing some quick updates about the pandemic, and I guess I’m jumping on the bandwagon, but I really feel that it’s important to share some tips and advice on how to handle any moment of uncertainty, especially as a leader. You are, in some way, a leader no matter what you do, and many of you are leaders within your community and through your business.

There’s a lot of uncertainty surrounding what’s happening right now, but it’s important that we know how to step up as a leader and serve our clients and our audience, even during these times. As people are being forced to stay at home, they are searching for answers and community, and with the internet and social media, we have an opportunity to maintain that sense of community and optimism.

I believe that when things like this occur, people are given two options - the option to panic or to seek peace. Fear is not a good place to act from or show up from. You get to choose how you decide to show up and which path you choose to serve to your audience. Knowing that the world will keep spinning and this virus will eventually (fingers crossed) go away, means that we need to continue to show up and provide a space of peace and encouragement to navigate this time.

Now is the time to perfect your craft and spend your time creating and learning and showing up so that when this all does pass, you have something to show for this time. It’s also a time to use for self-care by focusing on protecting your health and your energy. Putting your focus in these areas and best utilizing your time is a great way to lead by example to your audience and show them how they can be using this time without the panic.

People will turn to online community during this time, and they are searching for answers in a place where you can be a light for them. Don’t feel that you need to stop selling and providing your offer in this uncertainty, especially if your offer is something that people could really use right now. Usually the reason why people can’t have what you’re offering or the reason they’re unable to commit or invest is the exact reason they need to. If they have a financial issue and you’re a money coach, for example, then now is the time where they need your guidance the most.

Whether you show up through or free content or through a call-to-action to help people, it is your responsibility to continue to show up and serve the people who need you right now.
