Here at Wander Wealthy, I want to make sure I’m giving the best guidance and content for building a successful money coaching business with as little upfront resources/costs as possible. Because of that, we rely a lot on content marketing to help sell your coaching offerings, but it’s easy for us to get in a content funk and have trouble creating content easily, so I’m going to share some tips to help with that.

We’re going to talk a little about action-taking, motivation, and visibility surrounding content and content creation over the next few weeks because I want you to be able to create content easily and consistently so that you’re able to grow your money coaching business easily and consistently too.

Not in any particular order, here are the 7 keys to creating content easily and consistently:

1. Redefine what the word “consistency” means to you.

So many of my clients get really bogged down by what they think consistency looks like. They hear all the podcasts and gurus say they need to be consistent and then that you need to be posting multiple times a day to grow quickly. Yes, posting more will get more eyes on your content, but if you’re shooting your shot too soon, it’s easy to get bogged down. So if you’re just focused on posting something and don’t have an intentional plan behind that piece of content, it’s going to miss the mark.

Consistency just means that you’re consistent in your own content. It could mean you’re consistent with the themes and topics within your content or the frequency that you post (which could easily be once or twice a week). It doesn’t have to mean that you’re posting something every day.

2. Don’t wait for motivation, momentum, or inspiration to strike. You have to create it.

Sometimes something will hit and you’ll think “that’s a brilliant idea for a piece of content” but most of the time, you have to create it. Think about authors like Brené Brown and Elizabeth Gilbert…we think they’re very prolific authors and creators, but they have to sit down when they don’t necessarily have the motivation and put the words on paper.

Similar for you as an entrepreneur, especially when you’re starting out and have less resources, you have to wear all the hats and be a content creator and a writer. You have to show up even when the creative spark and inspiration isn’t there. Try changing up your environment to spark some of your creativity.

3. Intimately know your ideal client, so you can tap into what they need to hear today.

I know I’ve talked about this so many times before, especially when it comes to finding your niche, but if you’re finding yourself stuck when it comes to content, revisit what you know about your ideal client. If you don’t know, go out and find it. Do the market research and ask them the questions that will give you the ideas for content.

Another piece to this is having content pillars (which are like higher level topics that you repeatedly talk about). Your content pillars should reflect what you teach and what you know your ideal clients need. If things seem repetitive sometimes, that’s the point…you need them to know exactly what to expect and what you’re going to teach them.

4. Understanding the buyer’s journey.

The buyer’s journey is the process that a prospect will go through when they’re making a decision to purchase something that they need. When you think about a buyer, they’re going through various stages and sometimes may not even be looking for a solution. This means you need to understand that process that they go through and break that down into the awareness stage, consideration stage, decision stage and delight stage. As they’re moving through the buyer’s journey, they move through each of these stages.

5. Practice.

If creating content isn’t something that’s happening for you easily and consistently, then you have to practice. Content creation is like a muscle and it gets easier with practice. The first few times are never fun, and they’re usually hard. You may want to give up because it feels too hard, but you have to be willing to go through those hard first steps and keep practicing to get better.

6. Schedule that practice.

We talked about determining what consistency is going to mean for you and about the importance 0f practicing, but now it’s time to schedule out making the sucky first drafts. You need to schedule out that time to practice and learn. Make sure that you do it! Time blocking and content batching is really going to come in handy here. It doesn’t have to be a lot of time, but there has to be time on your schedule to hold you accountable to actually take action.

7. Consume great content.

Don’t lean on this one as a crutch because it’s probably the easiest and most fun one of all, but I do think it’s important to do this. The important thing to remember here though is to create before you consume. Read and listen and consume a little bit from the brilliant writers around you. Put boundaries in place so you don’t over-consume, but just know this can be really helpful in sparking your own creativity and allowing you to be yourself and make your own rules.
